Jaatishwar wins 4 National Awards, Bengal shines

The Bengali film industry won big at the 61st National Film Awards, announced on 16th April, 2014, around 4 pm.

With Jaatishwar winning 4 awards and other Bengali films like Bakita Byaktigoto, Heyro Party and At the Cross Roads : Nondon Bagchi Life and Living winning, this definitely proved to be a big day for the film buffs of West Bengal.

While Srijit Mukherjee Jaatishwar won the awards for the Best Music direction (Kabir Suman), Best Playback Singer Male (Rupankar), Best Costume (Sabarni Das) and Best Makeup (Vikram Gaikwad), Pradipta Bhattacharyya’s Bakita Byaktigoto won the Best Bengali Film award. Heyro Party, an animation short film by Deepak Gawade won the award for best film on family values while At the Cross Roads : Nondon Bagchi Life and Living by Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti won a special mention award.

Jaatishwar stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Swastika Mukherjee, Rahul, Riya Sen, Mamata Shankar, Kharaj Mukherjee while Bakita Byaktigoto stars Ritwik Chakraborty, Aparajita Ghosh Das, Madhabi Mukherjee, Debesh Roy Choudhury, Supriyo Dutta, Churni Ganguly, Monu Mukherjee, Sudipa Basu, Amit Saha, Kaushik Roy.
